Stitch ‘n Knit started trading on 13 October 2014, when French native Stéphane Kenny (nee Rodrigues) decided to open her own craft, gift and clothing personalisation shop having run a similar store for a number of years previously.

Stéphane is from France but has lived in Ireland since 2006, having previously resided both in Saint-Malo Brittany and later in the Pays de la Loire region of France.  

Stéphane settled in Athlone soon after arriving in Ireland, where she now lives with her husband Cathal, and two sons Cillian & André.

Stéphane trained and worked in the area of traditional upholstery and soft furnishings during her formative years in France. Since coming to Ireland she has worked in retail clothing stores, including Dunnes Stores clothing department, Esprit and also managed the well-known French ladies knitwear boutique outlet Devernois, in Athlone for a number of years.

Stéphane has gained an in depth knowledge of the craft and clothing industry over many years, and prides herself on a keen eye for detail combined with excellent customer service.

Mollie hails from Drogheda, Co Louth, but has made Athlone her home since graduating from the University of Galway, with a degree in Computer and Software Engineering.

Mollie’s unique skill set of IT expertise and passion for all things craft coincided with the stores voyage to go online. Mollie is an all-round crafter, with crochet being her real area of expertise.

Added to Mollies IT and craft background, her beautiful personality, willingness to help and overall professionalism has made her a customer favourite from the get go.  

Mollie has led from the front with the stores new online ecommerce offering. Mollie also oversees our social media platforms, while continuing to be hands on in store offering customers invaluable ad-hoc advice and tips, and providing structured in store crochet lessons.

We also sell a selection of Gift items, almost all of which have a textile theme. You'll always pick up something for that birthday, anniversary or Xmas present. And we'll even wrap it for you !!!!

We stock the World Renowned Brother Sewing, Overlocker and Embroidery Machines. We are the sole agent in the Midlands. All our machines come with a 3 year warranty and are very competitively priced.

We have a Baby Goods section in the shop and on-line, which includes Clothing, beautiful Presents for New Born's, Keepsake/Gift Box and more....come and see.

We provide a Personal and Corporate Clothing & Gift Customisation Service, using Embroidery and Printing techniques. Bring your own or we can supply high quality garments at affordable prices. We cater for Babywear, Sports Clubs, Business/Company Clothing, School Uniforms, Hens/Stags and much more. If it’s a one off personal item or your company or club want to improve your professional appearance contact us for a quote. We use market leading industrial embroidery and printing machines operated by trained professional and experienced operators. We use the latest industry software to create our designs and work closely with clients to satisfy their requirements
